Ben Civil is a labour and employment lawyer at Ogletree Deakins’ Calgary office. Ben has experience assisting employers on a wide array of issues that arise in the modern workplace, including wrongful dismissals, human rights and accommodation disputes, labour relations, employment standards, and the enforcement of workplace policies and restrictive covenants.
Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Ben practiced with a large regional full-service firm in Alberta, where he practiced labour and employment and civil litigation. Ben also previously worked in the sports industry and is familiar with workplace dynamics in fast-paced, high-performing environments that inform many of the employment issues faced by employers operating in competitive landscapes.
Ben holds a Juris Doctor and a Certificate in International Business Law from Queen’s University Faculty of Law.
